From an ancient time, this unique pottery is full of history. Used to store water, olive oil, grains or wine these terracotta pots were salvaged from Turkey. Each piece was once handcrafted, creating a one-of-a-kind work of art that has survived decades.

 

Jars with handles were formerly made for convenience in carrying, the handles would be tied to donkeys to carry long distances. Food, oil and wine were once stored within them.

 

Jars with a narrow bottom part and a wide mouth were generally used to store grain in the kitchens.

 

Narrow mouth round belted jars ; It was used to make wine, vinegar or pickles.

 

Large dark brown jars made in the Bayburt region were generally used to store water.
